What a magical week it has been in Prep as we share the wonderful highlights of Christmas celebrations and performances.
The residents at Erskine Hall welcomed our enthusiastic Year 4 singers who performed the Twelve Days of Christmas and other joyful carols accompanied by Miss Felix on the keyboard. It was an uplifting afternoon shared by all. Thank you to the staff at Erskine Hall and to Mrs Sami for organising this event.
Families and staff came together to watch pupils re-enact the story of Christmas at our inaugural Crib Service. There were some wonderful moments and the girls enjoyed immersing themselves fully in their nativity roles.
Our Christmas productions got into full swing this week and the Nursery and Reception performance of Humph! was one not to be missed. The play tells the story of a grumpy camel who transforms into an excitable and happy camel after meeting the newborn King. The entire cast was clearly delighted to perform in front of such an appreciative audience!
Years 1 and 2 joined in with the Christmas festivities by performing Born in a Barn. Once again every pupil took great pride in their role and sang with real zeal and spirit!
Another impressive production, this time by Years 3 and 4 who spoke so eloquently and entertained the audience with their energy and singing. In the words of the final song, the performance was ‘full of adventure, to be lived and breathed, and we’re sure that anything’s possible when you believe!’
No Christmas at St Helen’s is ever complete without the traditional Hogwarts-style lunch. The younger girls revelled in the fun as they pulled crackers and the older girls marvelled at the opportunity to eat in the Roland Brown Hall!
And finally, how can we possibly not consider the chickens in all the festivities! The Eco Elves diligently decorated the outdoor chicken pen with handmade snowmen, penguins and presents.
A special thank you to all our incredible performers, our hard-working staff and to our wonderfully supportive parents!
