Follow Me Like Me – a visit by author Charlotte Seager

We were delighted to welcome to St Helen’s this week, author Charlotte Seager to talk to Years 8 & 9 about her new book Follow Me Like Me.

The novel touches on Charlotte’s personal experience of being directly messaged by a stranger and the obsession of being “liked” on social media as sixteen-year-old protagonist Chloe, replies to a direct message from a stranger, unaware of the subsequent impact her actions would have on her life.

Charlotte moved to London after university to join The Guardian as a writer on the children’s books site. She went on to become editor of The Guardian careers desk before moving papers earlier this year to join The Times and The Sunday Times as the engagement editor, overseeing audience engagement, online communities and comments. She is also the author of My (Secret) YouTube Life.
