South East Schools’ Chamber Music Competition

A selection of St Helen’s chamber music groups participated in the South East Schools’ Chamber Music Competition at North London Collegiate School.

The Piano Trio, consisting of Ariel (violin), Phoebe (cello) and Summer (piano) performed ‘Minuet’ by Frank Bridge followed by the Flute Quartet’s performance of ‘Notturno’ by Dittersdorf, involving Achuthaa, Anchanna, Riya and Alice. Each ensemble received feedback and tuition from the adjudicator, Professor Michael Dussek from the Royal Academy of Music, and the girls responded positively to his comments and guidance.

We are delighted that Ariel, Summer and Phoebe were awarded ‘Very Highly Commended’ – praise indeed for this excellent achievement. Their performance was well-rehearsed, polished and displayed excellent levels of musicality.

Congratulations to all the students who took part – we are incredibly proud of their strong work ethic and value their continued dedication and commitment.
