Year 2 visit the River & Rowing Museum

Year 2 girls received a very warm welcome from staff at the River and Rowing Museum in Henley which they visited as part of their learning topic about ‘materials.’

The girls took inspiration from medals won by former winning rowing teams and cast their own versions in plaster of Paris. They sorted a range of materials and their properties and learnt songs which encouraged recycling. The girls visited the museum galleries and hunted for a variety of historical objects linked to the river. The highlight of the day was walking through the magical display telling Kenneth Grahame’s classic story of the riverbank, the Wind in the Willows.
