Year 8 Creating Drama…

Year 8 have been busy creating drama as part of their shared remote learning experience. The summer term began with the girls researching three plays as a group during their Drama classes – Lord of the Flies, The Play that Goes Wrong and Treasure Island. Teams meetings have focused on discussing a range of theatrical themes, from set, stage, lighting, the plots and central characters – what is interesting about them and what happens on their journey, as well as giving a brief reference to other characters that are directly pivotal to the plot.

Each class was then divided into sub-channels according to their chosen play and over the last few weeks they have worked collaboratively (live in lesson) in groups of four to produce a powerpoint presentation to share with the rest of the class. The girls have produced some amazing work and thrived on the opportunity to work in smaller groups to research and develop themes together.

One of our Drama students who has been researching Treasure Island,  has produced this fabulous audition advert for her character and has gone to great efforts to consider the costume, props and staging for the set-piece. Great creativity girls and collaborative team work!
