Netball success for England international & alumna, Vicki Oyesola

Huge congratulations to Vicki Oyesola (Class of 2016) who played for the senior England netball team taking on World Champions New Zealand, in the Cadbury Netball Series last week. She made her appearance in the second quarter as England were trailing 14-12 but finished the quarter winning 25-23. Vicki performed brilliantly and brought a huge amount of energy to the match and made some vital interceptions and deflections.

This is an incredible achievement and we couldn’t be prouder – particularly the PE department! To see a former St Helen’s student on the international stage, performing at such a high level and achieving her dream is amazing. We all know how hard Vicki has worked for many years to reach these heights of success and to see her stepping on to the court wearing her England Roses dress, will have been an incredible moment for her. We are delighted for her and will continue to follow and support her achievements as a whole St Helen’s community – hopefully she will be available to play when we finally have our ‘Alumnae v Girls’ netball fixture in 2021! Well done Vicki.
