The inside track on a career in Dentistry

Our highly commended Futures Programme enables girls to flourish in their lives beyond school: to develop the resilience, self-confidence, professional and networking skills to become the leaders of tomorrow in their chosen fields. Last week, over 40 students in Years 10, 11, and 12 attended a webinar about Dentistry as a career and we were fortunate that alumnae were able to share their experiences of both studying and working in this profession.

Our panelists talked about the need to be excellent multi-taskers with exemplary interpersonal skills and also told girls about the different specialisations in Dentistry and their different working patterns.  The key message for our current students was the importance of doing something that you love.  Our students really appreciated our guests’ honesty and felt they could relate to them having been former students at St Helen’s.  They particularly appreciated the overriding message of the webinar which was to not worry, trust in yourself and your abilities, and that you will get where you need to be.  Our thanks to alumnae Roopa Kukadia (class of 2003), Chandni Pattni (class of 2002) , Rowena Da Rocha (class of 2001), and Ria Gupta (class of 2017) for sharing their insight and positivity.
