Virtual Crepe Day!

There’s nothing quite like a pancake or crêpe in this case, to get us through the lockdown period! Year 9 and Year 13 French students had fun in the kitchen during their remote French lessons to mark La Chandeleur – a festival of light, celebrated by the French on the 2 February each year. Whilst there are many theories as to why the tradition began, most believe it goes back to the 5th Century when Pope Gelase I is believed to have held candlelit processions on that day and offered crêpes to the pilgrims in the city of Rome. A fabulous treat, well done girls!
