Wow-what a week! We are really lucky this year to have been able to continue with plans for Personal Skills week for Year 6 students – a two week skills-based extravaganza where staff organise a skill to share with the girls, a passion to impart or an activity they just enjoy doing.
Activities have been wide ranging, from DIY to knitting, taking part in a Confidence Kids workshop, or learning Irish dancing to sessions with the Samba band (which we are sure could be heard throughout Northwood!). It has been a great week enabling staff to inspire girls to try new hobbies and interests such as photography and baking. Each day there has been a new and exciting activity for the girls to experience culminating in a night camping under canvas on the school grounds. Overnight camping was great fun even though no one slept (!) including staff.
There have been many girls (and staff) who have discovered hidden talents and skills they never realised they could do. It’s been an incredible team effort and we look forward to week 2!
