Year 5 taster morning in Senior School

We were delighted to welcome our Year 5 Prep students to Senior School to experience a variety of Year 7 learning activities. The girls were welcomed by Mrs Lucas and were excited to hear about the plethora of co-curricular offering across Music, Sport and Drama from the Heads of Faculties.

One student found the poetry session particularly engaging…

I loved English because we really dug deep into poems such as ‘What has happened to Lulu’ and ‘Miller’s End’. I enjoyed how we broke down every single sentence of the poem to reveal what the poem was talking about’.

A real hit with the girls was the creative art session led by Mrs Smith, where they had fun designing their own Gelli art. Others completed a Physics activity in the new STEM Centre lab and were able to find out more about the various Science clubs and the many practical activities and experiments girls can get involved in. The falling domino display was a particular highlight!

The girls were so thrilled to visit the library and have the opportunity to meet Senior School students, Prefects and teachers and left with a real sense of what lies in wait as a Year 7 student.
