Sixth Form Lecture – The Life and Work of a Radical Feminist

The St Helen’s Sixth Form Lecture series began in style this term with our guest speaker, Julie Bindel, one of Britain’s leading feminist thinkers and activists.

A journalist, writer, broadcaster and researcher, Julie has long been a campaigner to end violence towards women and children. She spoke to Sixth Form students about the core principles of Feminism and why the fight for women’s rights are as important as ever. Drawing on her wide-ranging experiences in the field, the talk opened up to an impassioned discussion on the hot topics of the day.

The lecture was then followed by a lunch, hosted by the St Helen’s Feminist Society which focused on how to lead the way to promote women’s rights.
