The St Helen’s under 16 and under 19 netball teams travelled to Condover Hall in Shrewsbury over the weekend of the 8th – 10th of September 2023 to take part in Netball Masterclasses facilitated by Netball Superleague and England coaches and players.

Throughout the weekend, our girls benefited from multiple high-level coaching sessions with top premiership netball coaches. These coaching sessions focused on different elements of the game with insights provided by past and present Netball Superleague and England players: Ella Bowen, Nat Panagarry and Millie Sanders. The skills learnt during these sessions were then put into practice with matches played against other visiting teams.

The weekend was not only about the on-court development of the girls but also about growing and developing the personal leadership skills of each individual while fostering friendships among teammates through various team-building activities. These activities included a zip wire, an aerial trek and laser tag. The skills developed over the weekend will help to further establish the team cohesion required to thrive on the court.

We are very proud of the character shown by our girls who received numerous accolades from the coaching staff for their willingness to learn and grow as a team and as individuals all in the face of the extremely hot weather conditions experienced throughout the weekend.
