Students excel at the latest round of the Maths Olympiad for Girls and the Senior Maths Challenge!
Our talented maths students recently participated in the Senior Maths Challenge and Maths Olympiad for Girls where they have achieved some of the best results in our school’s history.
Some highlights from the Maths Olympiad for Girls where we had 54 students participate:
– 13 distinctions
– 27 merits
– 74% of entrants achieved a merit or higher
– Aamena (Y13) has qualified for Round 1 of the British Mathematical Olympiad. She is the second student from St Helen’s to qualify in over 10 years.
Some highlights from the Senior Maths Challenge where we had 79 students participate:
– 11 golds
– 24 silvers
– 85% of entrants achieved a bronze or higher
Six students got both a gold in the Senior Maths Challenge and a Distinction in the Maths Olympiad for Girls – Amy (Y12), Aamena (Y13), Anchanaa (Y13), Ameera (Y13), Mehma (Y13) and Lucy (Y13).
A special mention must also go to Aadya who is only in Y10 and achieved a gold in the Senior Maths Challenge!
