St Helen’s students take on the Austrian Alps.

During the Christmas holidays, a group of Y9 girls embarked on a trip to Austria where they enjoyed skiing in the Austrian Alps.

Mr Hoffman, who accompanied the girls, commented that the trip provided a “fantastic experience for the girls to develop skills they may otherwise never be exposed to”.

The group were treated to great snow and very quickly picked up the skills required to take on the various slopes. During their stay, the girls had an evening trip to a Christmas market in Innsbruck and a tradition Austrian evening of music, games and dancing.

This annual trip is not only about providing the students with an opportunity to have fun on the slopes, but also gives them a chance to learn about and experience firsthand the culture and history of Austria and the surrounding region.

The group had a phenomenal time, and many memories and friendships were made over the course of their time in the Austrian Alps.

Upon returning to the UK, Mr Hoffman commented that he was proud of the students for their enthusiasm, progress, and behaviour on the trip and said he hoped the trip would inspire them to continue skiing in the future.

Well done to all involved and thank you for being such great ambassadors for our school.
