At St Helen’s we acknowledge and appreciate the heavy demands on working families, and, therefore are keen to support you as a family with flexible and nurturing wrap-around care as much as possible. This is an extremely popular service that we are constantly reviewing and we recommend contacting the School as early as possible as places are limited.
From Year 1 girls may join a group for breakfast at Longworthe House from 7.30am. A healthy breakfast is served and girls undertake supervised play until they are escorted to begin their school day.
The Daisy Club is open for all girls from Nursery to Year 2 and looks after girls until 4pm. There is a small charge and it can be booked until 11am on the day of use.
After School Club runs in two locations. For EYFS pupils are cared for in a young environment in Longworthe House and for those in KS1 and KS2, After School Club is housed in Gables. All girls in After School Club are given a healthy light tea and are provided with activities and plenty of supervised play opportunities. Girls in KS2 are given supervised homework time as well. There is a charge for this service and places are limited (there is often a waiting list). Bookings must be made through the Prep School office.
Pupils can arrive at school from 7.30am and avail themselves of the dining room where they can relax with friends, undertake some collaborative study or curl up with a good book. After school, for those not involved in co-curricular activities, the Library is open until 5.30pm staffed by our enthusiastic librarian who, for many or our pupils, in a source of inspiration and guidance on all matters scholastic. For specific, special co-curricular events, such as school productions and musical concerts, supper is provided by our catering team for participants.
There are many co-curricular clubs offered for all pupils after school from Sport to Music and from Phab Club to Duke of Edinburgh. All activities finish at 5.30pm and there is a late coach service which leaves at 5.40pm.
